Three Sentence Ficathon 2016!

(Because one didn't seem to have started this year, and I admit to wanting very much to participate in one of these challenges!)
Presenting the Three Sentence Ficathon 2016!

The Steps:
1. Prompt the fandom/pairing/situation of your heart, preferably in the following format: fandom, character/pairing, prompt word/sentence. .
2. Find a prompt by someone else (or heck, your own) that catches your interest.
3. Fill the prompt in no more than three sentences. (NB: This is really more of a guideline
4. Revel in reading the (hopefully large) amounts of fics thereby produced.
5. PROFIT!

Not only is this beautiful, but there's so much interesting tension there between the lines, in Rey's resentment and never Master or any title more intimate and the image of the setting suns. Really excellent character dynamics.

In her father's house, her eyes shine like comets as they walk home under a starry sky; in Ishval, the sun glints off her scope as she sights down her rifle and shoots. In her father's house, he pines and carries on as only the very young and very foolish can; in Ishval, her presence rends his heart.

In her father's house, he thinks he loves her; in Ishval, he knows he does.

Oh, ouch. This is glorious and heartbreaking, and beautifully written.

Another confession Trisha Elric will never make: her heart sank when she saw her second child for the first time, crowned with his father's golden mane. It hadn't seemed that much to hope for: a girl, maybe, just one, who looked like her instead, who reminded her of what would have been if she'd married a nice, steady, boring young man and lived the nice, steady, boring existence everyone had meant for her.
She swallows then, and carries on (she always does): let Alphonse and Edward stand testament to exactly how terrible a mistake she made, letting Hohenheim into her life.

Here's a ghost story for you: the phone booth just outside Central HQ was haunted, they say; every so often, the phone rang, and when some unsuspecting buffoon picked it up, all he could hear was the sound of....nothing (not silence, mind; nothing) on the other end. Yeah, that phone kept on ringing--terrorized people almost as bad as the Chopper in his worst days--until, well--
Here's a love story for you: they say the President picked that phone up on his wedding day; it never rang again.

Oh, Trisha... This is so good and so sad, and painfully believable.

Star Wars: the Force Awakens
---
"Chewie told me about Han."

Leia started. Few people were able to sneak up on her- one of the benefits of being Force-sensitive- but Luke was always the exception.

"He knew what he was getting into." Try as she might, Leia couldn't keep the fondness out of her voice.

"Leia-" Luke began.

She cut him off before he could apologize, or say something equally daft. "We're going to bring Ben home. There's still good in him; I know it."

Fill

Nick doesn’t know what comes over him in the moment, just that between one breath and the next he goes from purely annoyed at a suspect who refuses to do what a police officer is telling him to blackout angry when the suspect attacks Monroe; the rage that comes over him leaves the edges of his vision dark, like a red haze has overtaken him as he lashes out at the wesen without a thought until there is only anger and blood and shouting.

The buzzing in his ears eventually fades out to someone shouting his name and he blinks the haze away until he can see Hank- a worried look marring his face that Nick just can’t think about right now- standing over the bloodied, unconscious suspect and Monroe leaning against the wall a few feet away, broken arm held tight against his chest as he repeats Nick’s name again and again like a mantra- “Nick, Nick, Nick…”

“You’re safe,” Nick whispers, not sure whether he’s talking to Monroe or himself, and stumbles over to the other man, blood splattered hands reaching out to check that a broken arm is the only harm, devolving into caresses meant more to comfort himself and calm the shaking in his hands than anything else, “You’re safe.”

Ooh, I really love this. Perfect choice for the prompt, lovely resonance with the Original Trilogy, and I love the bittersweet fondness of Luke and Leia's interactions.
